About Alison

I’m running for judge because vulnerable people deserve respect in our courts.

I am the executive director of Legal Access Texas, one of the first nonprofit sliding scale legal service providers in Texas to help address the problems of access to justice for the working poor in Dallas County.

I’m a former Assistant Public Defender, a Democratic Precinct Chair, and a progressive lifelong Democrat.

I live in an older neighborhood in beautiful South Oak Cliff with two smart daughters, three chickens, and one big misbehaved dog.

I’m running for Judge because I believe that the people who use our criminal courts deserve respect. Victims have been hurt, humiliated, and ignored. They need to be heard and they need to feel like there is a real accountability for what has happened to them.
I know that defendants are hurting as well. They need to know that they will be treated fairly and seen as fully human, given the dignity of men and women with families and value, not just objectified cases, numbers, or problems. They need to find a way forward to live successfully in the world.
